S.R. Veeraraghavan is the prime disciple of Sangeetha Kalanidhi Dr. S. Ramanathan and Chevalier Padhma Vibushan Dr. M. Balamuralikrishna. He is an A grade artiste of Akk India Radio and an award winner of the Best Music Director in Doordharshn, Chennai. He released his first CD “Ragavaragam” with S. Janaki, P.B. Srinivas and Dr. Balamuralikrishna. He was awarded the “Chembai Vaidyanatha Bagavathar Endowment Award” by Krishna Gana Saba and “Pannisai Mamani” by Thirukovilur Pannpattu Kazhagam. Hew selected by the “Iyal Isai Nataka Mandram” of Tamil Nadu (India) Government to perform extensively in South India.

His sparkling creativity and impressive ease with which he sings proves his versatility. His spirited voce vibrates the passionate composition of rhythm and melody, which makes him the maestro of his unique style of singing. He specializes in the Devar names Purandaradas and Thiru Arupta of Vallalar Ramalinga Adigal. His wider appearance as a vocalist in the international arena (India, Canada, USA, U.K., Bangladesh, Europe Martinique, Reunion Islands, West Indies) has made him capture the vast musical world.

He has also worked with legends such as Udipi Laxminarayana, Karaikudi Mani and Rajkumarbharathi. He has also lent his voice to major dance companies in Singapore, Canada, USA and Australia. Currently he is a freelance vocalist for various dancers and dance companies in India and abroad.
